Presenting at Slush 2023
Hello everyone,
Last week's adventure at Slush in Helsinki was nothing short of exhilarating! Slush is not just any tech conference; it's a melting pot of innovative minds from across the globe, buzzing with startup founders, investors, and tech enthusiasts.
We took this opportunity quite seriously and started preparing four months in advance. We signed up for every startup program Slush offered - Slush 100, Slush Startup Showcase, Slush Startup booths - you name it, we applied for it! Each program provided a unique platform to showcase Macromoto to the rest of the tech world.
Our active engagement with the Slush team paid off. A couple of exchanged emails and one Zoom call with the organizers opened doors to media interviews with Wired and Business Insider - talk about hitting the jackpot!
Pre-scheduling meetings with key people was crucial in such a massive conference. It's all about connecting with the right people at the right time, and we didn’t expect to bump into the right person.
But the excitement wasn’t just within the conference walls! Helsinki was abuzz with side events. One unforgettable experience was an elevator pitch session in the Kone building - pitching in an actual elevator is a one-of-a-kind experience. Then there was the Tokyo Pitch Night. Presenting our company there allowed us to connect with Nordic Ninja, a major player in Asia’s Series A funding scene — with their impressive track record of over 22 investments this year alone.
Now here’s a travel tip for fellow Slush-goers: Stay close to the venue. While Helsinki's public transport is commendable, living closer to the event saves precious time. And let’s not forget that every moment at Slush is an opportunity to network - even while queuing for the cloakroom!
