How Can Tracking Your Blood Sugar Improve Your Life?
Hello everybody,
I hope your week has been going great so far! As you probably know, I’ve been diving deeper into preventive healthcare, as well as trying to be more conscious about my health.
One of the things I’ve found particularly interesting lately is the CGM or a continuous glucose meter. CGM is a small device that gets attached to your arm to monitor (continuously, hence its name!) your blood sugar. And no, it’s used not only by diabetic people, contrary to popular belief. Several manufacturers are selling it to healthy customers like myself 🙃. The one I got was from Veri.
So, why did I decide to run this experiment? Well, first of all, aren’t we all curious to get more insights into how our body works? I’ve been learning a lot about biology recently, and I’ve found out that blood sugar is one of the most important markers of our health. When it’s too low or too high, it can indicate a range of potentially dangerous health conditions. Our lifestyle, what we eat, and how much we exercise, all these factors influence our blood sugar levels, and usually, it all goes without us noticing.
CGMs keep track of our glucose levels, and even a healthy person can get a lot of interesting information about their body from using them. Additionally, it could help you to make more conscious decisions about your health, which I think we can agree is important ✨. Knowing what’s going on in your body gives you some control over your health, and I think that preventing is much better than treating.
If you’re curious and want to learn more, I’ve actually written an article explaining more in-depth how the CGMs work and the benefits of monitoring our blood sugar. You can find it here. Not feeling like reading? 😁 I also have a YouTube video I filmed a while ago, where I discuss my experience with a CGM and review the one I used. Click here to watch.
I’ll keep you updated with my journey to being more conscious about my health, and if I find other cool devices like this, I’ll share them with you, too 😊.
Have you ever tried using a CGM? If not, would you like to try it?
Thank you for reading, and I wish you a lovely weekend,
Eva.
